Clowne Gateway Environmental Improvement Scheme

Clowne Parish Council has secured a Cultivation Licence from Derbyshire County Council to landscape and maintain 5 highway verges in and around the mini roundabout on High Street/ Mansfield Road (see attached link with map for reference).

The Parish Council has appointed a contractor to undertake landscaping works to these areas commencing Monday 20th September 2021 and the contract is scheduled to last for approximately 3 weeks.

Whilst our aim is to minimise the impact of these works on neighbours some disruption is inevitable so please accept our apologies for this.

Also access will be maintained to those properties located next to these areas but please could we ask that any visitors do not attempt to park on any of the grass verges going forward.

Any visitors or deliveries to any affected properties will have to find alternative parking nearby (i.e. The Arc).

It is hoped that the completed scheme will have a positive impact on the visual amenity of this busy and important gateway into and out of Clowne.

If you have any queries then please do not hesitate to email singleton.s@clownepc.co.uk

Yours sincerely

Steven Singleton

Clowne & Barlborough Cemetery

Due to ground movement over the years it has been necessary to remove a number of headstones and plinths in the interest of Health & Safety due to the risk of toppling over.

The Joint Burial Committee of Clowne and Barlborough Parish Councils have removed these headstones for safe keeping and refitting whilst stabilisation works are being commissioned.

The area in question has been taped off and courtesy notices erected; in all around 25 head stones will need removing over the coming days.

Our aim is to complete all associated stabilisation works to the grounds and have the affected headstones securely refitted by early December 2021.

Please accept our sincere apologies for having to do this.

The headstones are kept safe in storage at Beecroft Memorials at Creswell whilst the urgent works are undertaken to address the problem.
