Hickinwood Lane Allotments Rules
Allotment tenants are required to:
- To keep their plot in good order and ensure it is free from weeds, litter and other detritus at all times;
- To keep their plot well cultivated and ensure the soil is well nourished so that it is conducive to the growing of allotment produce;-
- To store and dispose of all weeds, rubbish and other detritus safely so as not to create a hazard or risk to any neighbouring tenant, visitor to the property or member of the public;
- All paths and gates on the property should kept clear, free from obstruction and accessible at all times;
- All vehicle movements on the property will be undertaken with the utmost of due care and attention and no vehicles shall exceed a 5 mph speed limit when moving onto and off the property;
- That all vehicles brought onto the property shall be properly insured and taxed with a valid MOT and parked at all times at the designated car park cross hatched green on the attached plan;
- That all hedges, borders, fencing, gates and drainage dykes relating to their plot should be kept in good and safe order so as not to create a hazard or risk to any neighbouring tenant, visitor to the property or member of the public;
- Not to use the property for any trade or business purposes;
- Not to re-assign or sublet any part of the property to a third party;
- Not to bring onto or store at the property any substances hazardous to health, flammable materials or any materials likely to cause harm or injury to others;
- No sheds, caravans, outbuildings or other structures shall be erected, extended or modified without the express written permission of the Council;
- No livestock, poultry or honey bees are to be kept on the property without the express written permission of the Council;
- No barbed wire may be used on the property;
- The lighting of bonfires is only permitted during daylight hours and only none hazardous allotment waste can be burnt;
- Bonfires must be properly supervised at all times, be sufficiently away from any flammable materials and have adequate supply of water readily available to effectively extinguish the fire if need be;
- Bonfires must be fully extinguished before the tenant leaves the property;
- That any dogs brought onto the property must be kept on a lead at all times and that any dog waste must be immediately cleared from the site and disposed of in a dog waste bin;
- Any visitors to the property must be properly supervised and accompanied at all times;
- That all equipment, tools and materials brought onto and/or stored at the property are only for the purpose of maintaining an allotment and do not present a hazard or health and safety risk to any neighbouring tenant, visitor to the property or member of the public;
- Not to erect or display any sign, notice or advertising without the express written consent of the Council;
- Not to enter onto any other tenant’s plot without the express permission of that tenant.
- To be a good neighbour and not to cause nuisance or disturbance to any other tenant or neighbouring properties and their residents;
- That when ending this agreement with the Council the property and plot must be left in good order, with all of the tenant’s equipment, tools materials fully removed before vacating the property;
- That on leaving the property at the end of each visit the main gate will be locked and the properly secured;All plots are currently allocated but if you wish to add your name to the waiting list then please email joanne@clownepc.co.uk and advise of your name, current home address and email/ telephone contact details.
